The Artificial Intelligence topic surrounds all the facts, figures, processes and dimensions that contribute partly and immensely to the extraordinary behavior of machines or robots. As a branch of computer science, it pinpoints on the study of intelligent machines; that can perceive environments and take important actions that in all way maximize the chances of success of any drill or task. The selling idea behind the priceless curtain of Artificial Intelligence is the drive to make machines function as the human mind, making suitable decisions and solving problems. Artificial Intelligence machines are built by humans, developed and maintained by human hands and made to function in ways that surpass mere reasoning. More often than not, these machines are impacting our lives, and we have stopped thinking of the possible repercussions of these robots to the human race. Over time, it has been noticed that we humans do not even understand our creation. The mode of operation of these machines and how they will affect our future is what we are oblivious of. Artificial intelligence seems not be enough reason for us to put our trust and hope in metals and steel that we do not even comprehend. Artificial intelligence, taking over almost all spheres of human life is undoubtedly the future of mankind. But their limitation, of which the downscale perceptive ability in human beings for these machines is most prominent, is the chief reason for the emergence of Explainable Artificial Intelligence. This is aimed at giving people a larger opportunity to understand the already existing intelligent machines better, and using the invaluable knowledge to develop even better, reliable and more understandable creative models. Most developers inculcate quantum computing into XAI so as to enable these systems to utilize the ability of atomic molecules to perform memory and processing tasks. This series of computers are of higher demand in cyberspaces security platforms and also in military intelligence. XAI machines will be able to perform security/military tasks and explain the motives behind their resolutions.

Explainable AI also termed as explainable machine learning is given more importance if the warfighters are to understand and appropriately manage and trust the emerging new generation of the artificial intelligence and machine partners. The new systems would be having the capability to explain the rationale, properly convey the understanding about the working and behavior of the new systems in future, and characterize the weaknesses and strengths of these systems. In order to achieve this goal, the strategy is to develop modified or new machine learning methods and techniques that would produce more detailed and explainable models. If this is achieved, it would be quite good and helpful thing. This would not only help the management and trust issues but also have the huge legal ramifications, social and usability besides helping the verification. Those explanations would then be used as the partial replacement of the missing source code hence counteracting opaqueness that makes the verifying machine learning quite hard.

    Explainable Artificial Intelligence, also called XAI, is a system program that incorporates and entails surmounting and efficient explanation techniques with the results produced by the machines themselves to create more explainable models and results. This program aims to create a generation of computers that are not only trustworthy to man but also easy to relate to and understand. This set of machines is aimed towards producing more explainable models while paying keen attention to and maintaining a high degree of learning performance of which prediction and total accuracy are entailments. The enablement of humans to overtly understand, appropriately understand and effectively manage the emerging generation of artificially intelligent machines/computers remains another goal of explainable artificial intelligence. Human intelligence is obviously natural, and the human brain and mind are to be given a chance to walk hand in hand with and stand a chance with the developed and sophisticated artificial intelligence machine.

    The incoming generation of machines will be developed with certain abilities and characteristics that will favor the human race and its future. Explainable Artificial Intelligence in the form of new machine-learning systems will have the capability of deciphering this logic, characterize their strengths and weaknesses, and convey an understanding as to their likely behavior in future. The plan/strategy for realizing this long term set goal is to build and develop new intelligent machines that will have modified machine-learning techniques that will produce more explainable models. These models will then be used as sources in developing even more understandable models as the line of intelligence continues. In order to achieve this, an interface incorporating a human-computer relationship will be developed to wind up techniques that will be useful in explaining dialogues and developments for any user. Artificial intelligence computers will then be generated and designed to carry a more transparent portfolio that will foster a human-computer mutual understanding. These design generations, in turn, will equip upcoming designers and developers with a multitude of options that will help bridge the gap between human performance and artificial intelligence, covering the performance versus explainability trade space. This eventually makes lucid the target of an end user who depends on decisions, recommendations or actions produced by an Artificial Intelligence system and therefore needs to have a clue or an array of clues concerning the rationale for the system’s decisions. The why question in context further refines those clues and restructure them into a formidable platform for overall understanding.

    The rationale behind developing XAI machines is that the promises have been made to advance and produce automatic systems that will function independently is rather too thin and unacceptable; the machines will still be unable to explain their actions. Therefore, the need for XAI is dire in all sectors of life.  AI is no longer enough; XAI is absolutely necessary.
